 When you tell us that you wish to become a member of St. James, we consider that you are a member from that day on. If you have been baptized and/or confirmed in the Episcopal Church, you may simply request a letter of transfer from that church. We would be happy to request that transfer for you by calling the church office from St. James. If you are joining St. James from another denomination, you may participate in the life of this church. When you are confirmed or received by the bishop into this denomination, you then become a formal member.
The Bishop comes to confirm at St. James once a year. We are aware that many people come to us from other churches and may not yet be ready to make the formal step of membership. Please know that we are delighted to have you consider St. James as your second church. It is important to us to meet you wherever you happen to be on your spiritual journey.
