Dear Friends,

The parish family at St. James supports a wonderful ministry in music: the St. James Choristers. If you’re not familiar with this ministry, you should make plans to hear their upcoming recital, next Sunday, May 18th between the 9am and 11am services. It takes place at 10:40 a.m.

The St. James Choristers is a choir for children’s treble voices, ranging from about 2nd grade into upper grade school. We’ve been a very flexible group this year, and have been through lots of great changes. I’m proud to be conducting this great group of singers for the fourth year. Singers include Olivia Schawe, Anders Wall, Clare Heathman, George Bousfield, Sarah Bousfield, Jacob Moorehead, Luke Moorehead, David Lusk, Katie Condie and assistant Ashley Petty. We are also supported by an exceptional group of parent helpers, including Beth Condie (coordinator) and Helen Bousfield. As we support them with the opportunity to sing and learn in choir, they support us in worship and prayer. You might say that they support us in ancient worship by opening our minds with beautiful singing, inviting us to come inside and make a difference in our ministry of worship, and in the world.

We hope that our recital and continued presence at the 9am service will encourage young singers to join this choir! I invite parents of eligible youngsters to speak with me anytime about being a part of the Choristers. Please make plans to hear our recital next Sunday!

Sincerely,
David Cason
Organist and Choirmaster
