A time-honored tradition at St. James, the Old English Tea raises money for charities all over the city and county. Gathering together to put on a beautiful tea party along with booths to purchase many wonderful goodies, the women, and many of the men, and the youth of St. James go all out to make the tea a very special event. The Tea is certainly a joining together in fellowship to show Wichita a great time and to do a great deal of good.
You may think "Tea" seems a quaint gathering -- this event transforms our Guild Hall into a beautiful "courtyard" look and feel and serves 400-500 people. Plan to be a part of this activity; set aside the first Saturday in May to participate.
The 2012 Tea Chairs were Julie Ariagno and Debbie Johnson. They did an amazing job pulling it together in a short time! The mission of the tea is twofold. One is to offer an opportunity for service to the people of St. James, and the second to raise money for local charities that need our help. This year we were proud to raise $8,000! Thank you to Julie and Debbie and the hard-working people of St. James!
