Wonderful Wednesdays

 

Every Wednesday, we gather for Wonderful Wednesdays, for a light supper, followed by a wide variety of programs. Classes, rehearsals, and support groups are offered for all ages. Supper begins at 5:45 p.m. This is a wonderful way to make new friends and participate in a wide variety of activities. Donations for supper are appreciated.

WINTER/SPRING 2009 SCHEDULE

Men's Prayer Group 6:30-7:30 a.m.
Lounge
  Come and pray with some faithful men, enjoy breakfast and fellowship. Led by Ray Fleming  
     
Grief Support 9:30-10:30 a.m. AND 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Mother Kate's Office
  Nothing can be more comforting than communication with another person who is grieving. Led by Deacon Deedee Evans  
     
Childcare/Musikgarten 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Nursery
  The professionally-staffed Nursery is open for all ages; children are provided with crafts, games, and a music time. Led by Marilyn Pirtle and Nursery staff  
     
Choristers 5:00-6:00 p.m.
Children's Chapel
  Join the children who sing for us each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Learn to read music using the Royal Church School of Music Curriculum. For children from grades 1-6. Led by David Cason and Marjorie Williams  
     
Learning the Liturgy 5:30-6:25 p.m.
Guild Hall
  Move in detail through the parts of our Sunday Service and learn what God is dong with us in liturgy. Short lecture is followed by discussion in small groups. Led by Mother Kate Moorehead  
     
Divorce Support Group 5:30-630 p.m.
Jacobite Room
  Gain the strength as you share your new life with others who are beginning anew after a divorce. Led by Sue Baade  
     
Parenting of Preschoolers 5:30-6:30 p.m., January 14-February 18, 2009
Lounge
  Come experience parenting support and fellowship, personal growth and spiritual guidance to help you be the best parent possible. Childcare is available in the nursery . Led by Colleen Chase  
Footprints 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Mother Kate's Office
  A group of people who are fighting the battle against cancer. Come and gain strength from a community of support. Led by Beverly Calvert and Sue Reynolds  
     
Basic A Class 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Upstairs Conference Room
  Our primary course for all who are interested in exploring, joining, or renewing their commitment to the Episcopal Church. Led by Mother Kate

  Would you like to learn more about the many opportunities that St. James has to offer? Come and join. Led by Pam Callender, Clergy and staff  
     
Buddhapalians 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Tween Room
  Ever feel closer to God after a few deep breaths? Or after just “letting go”? You may be suffering from Buddhapalianism! Come learn about the spiritual brotherhood of Jesus and the Buddha as we read together Thick Nhat Hanh’s book "Living Buddha, Living Christ." Order Books through office. Led by Rob Compton  
     
Adoptive Parents 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Father Mike's Office
  Come and share your experiences and support one another with other parents. Led by Shari Kizziar  
     
Education for Ministry 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Volunteer Office
  A four-year course for the in-depth study of our faith. Led by Professor Paul and Necia Rillema  
     
Bible Study, The Psalms 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Lounge
  Learn with us as we closely study the book of Psalms. Led by Professor Craig Miner  
     
Youth Program 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The Catacombs
  Teens in sixth grade though High School learn about God together. All teens are invited. Led by Teresa Rogers and Youth members  
     
St James Choir 7:00-8:00 p.m.
The Nave
  Join a group of committed musicians as they prepare to lead worship at 11:15 a.m. on Sundays. Led by David Cason
