St. James youth engage in outreach programs in Wichita and the Diocese of Kansas. The youth are a vibrant part of the parish family. They are active in the liturgy serving as acolytes and assistants to the clergy. With their families, the youth also serve as ushers welcoming others to church for services and bearing the gifts of bread and wine for communion at the offertory.

Sunday school (grades 5th – 12th)20160921_192651

Sunday school takes place September – May every Sunday (except for the 2nd Sunday of the month) from 9:40 – 10:30 a.m. downstairs. The High school youth is led by Deacon Jeff Roper and assisted by other adults.

Youth Group (grades 5th – 12th)

image-1Here at St. James we aren’t interested in creating a “youth group.” Instead, we would rather our
youth be involved in an authentic, life-giving, and Christ-centered community. We take the time to have fun together, seek to do life together, help our neighbors, and deepen our faith. Our youth group is led by Anne Clark, with help from Jared Rowland, Kelly Staab and Taylor Tracy. The Middle school group (grades 6th – 8th) will meet from 6:45 – 8:00 p.m. in the basement. The High school group (grades 9th – 12th) will meet from 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. in the basement. The middle school youth will be sharing the Living the Good News Curriculum with the Middle school Sunday school group. The High school youth will be doing a bible study this year. We will participate in various community service projects throughout the year and the Wichita Alternative Gift Market in November.image
